A mini propane torch can also be used to burn off the polymer residue from the (nickel plated) brass nozzle. It’s a little slower than using a standard utility torch but the smaller flame allows it to be directed at the polymer residue more precisely and reduces the chance of metal warpage caused by overheating.

IMPORTANT: Remove heat from the nozzle if it starts to change color (orange or red) to avoid warping the metal.
